The Shirl the Girl stories were first conceived as a graded reader by the New Literacy Programme.

You can hear the 'Shirl the Girl' stories during the regular story time on Funky Kids Radio - Thursdays 4pm AEST and 4pm US Eastern time and repeated Saturday mornings 11am AEST and 11am US Eastern time.
